ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunications, Mrs. Anusha Rahman on Tuesday said an enabling environment was being created to increase employability of women through effective use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
"The opportunity cost for non-inclusion of women in national mainstream is huge. Our government is deeply cognizant of it," she said.
Talking to Chairperson, National Women Council, Ms Khawar, who called on the Minister, she said, "We are developing and putting in place numerous packages and schemes to uplift skills and knowledge of our women to increase their employability potential."
Anusha Rahman mentioned ICTs for Girls Programme which would soon be launched and is aimed at developing thousands of girls from marginalized section of society in employability centric technical and soft skills.
The chairperson for National Women Council appreciated the will of the Minister for women empowerment and shared that through collective and collaborative endeavors, the big goal of lowering the glass ceiling for women could be achieved in the best interest of Pakistan.
The Minister thanked the Chairperson for her visit and resolved to do her best in all steps of this journey of women empowerment.
