ISLAMABAD: "Pakistan has lost one of its shining stars and its pride in the passing away of Abdullah Hussain, a great author, writer, novelist and intellectual."
Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage said this while expressing deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of the renowned novelist.
Pervaiz said that being a man of letters, he possessed the virtues of creativity and sensitivity, and unique qualities of head and heart which distinguished him amongst his peers.
"Among his works, Udas Naslain stands out as a masterpiece which not only became popular in both Urdu and English literature but also won laurels from all and sundry."
The vacumn left by Abdullah Hussain's death would be difficult to fill, the minister said.
He said,"My heart goes out to his family and loved ones. I join them in sharing their grief on this great loss.
