ISLAMABAD: Senate on Friday resumed debate on Peshawar incident and strongly condemned the tragic incident.
Starting the debate, Senator Zahid Khan said that no example could be found in the history of the world like Peshawar incident.
He said that leaders of Awami National Party (ANP) were killed by terrorists adding that due to terrorism ANP had failed to run its election campaign effectively in general elections 2013.
He said that terrorists have attacked government Institutions, Schools, Bazaars and Military institution and killed innocent people.
Taking part in the debate, Senator Usman Saifullah strongly condemned the Peshawar incident and said that it was the most tragic incident in the history of the country.
He said that "war against terror is our war and we have to win it".
He said that chapter of good and bad Taliban should be closed and stern action should be taken against them.
Senator Hamza said that no words for the condemnation of Peshawar incident as the whole nation was in a state of deep shock and sorrow.
He said that the Christian community across the globe strongly condemned the Peshawar incident on Christmas day and prayed for the victims.
He said that time is ripe for taking concrete measures to eliminate terrorism from the country.
Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed said that previous governments could not formulate counter terror strategy.
He appreciated the steps taken by the government to eliminate the terrorism from the country.
He said that terrorism is the issue of whole country and he, stressed all political parties to come forward and solve this issue.
People have been fed up and will no more tolerate terrorism. People want decisive action against the menace of terrorism.
Saeeda Iqbal welcomed the government's decision for establishment of special trial courts saying this will help speedy conviction of terrorists.
