KARACHI: Governor of Sindh, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan has urged all stakeholders to play a coherent role in improving image of Pakistan that he said has currently got entangled into the web of Reality and Perception with severe implications on its economic growth and social development.
Talking to a 15-member delegation of European Union, led by EU Ambassador to Pakistan, Lars Gunnar Wigemark, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan said his country has made the largest share of sacrifice in the on going global war against terrorism.
"Yet our contribution is not extended due recognition by the world," said the Sindh Governor urging foreign ambassadors to Pakistan to help Pakistan in this regard dispelling false impression created abroad about it.
"You can be our supporters as you know the fact and understand the ground realities," said Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan.
He regretted that negative travel advisories with regard to Pakistan had adversely affected the foreign investment and to help the situation support of emissary and envoys deputed to Pakistan is needed.
Sindh Governor said government was fully conscious of the security issues and optimum attention has been paid towards it that has also resulted positively.
This, he said, is besides the fact that country is fast on its path towards strong democratic culture coupled with strengthening of all essential pillars pre-requisite for any stable and autonomous.
Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan also referred to legislation made for women empowerment and stringent measures for its implementation reiterating that people of Pakistan were basically quite progressive.
He reiterated that foreign investment in Pakistan, including Sindh that is also home to the country's commercial hub besides rich in natural resources, could strengthen democracy through economic stability.
