The brother of a murdered model Qandeel Baloch said that he is not embarrassed to have killed her sister as she had been bringing disgrace to his family. However, on the other hand, his family and friends have different perspective to the whole incident.
Qandeel's father, Muhammad Azeem said in a First Information Report that his daughter came to Multan from Karachi to celebrate Eid with the family. He said that Waseem, 25, also came to meet them on July 14. Qandeel’s father further revealed that Waseem had taken this extreme step at the behest of his brother Mohammad Aslam Shaheen, local media reported.
Some media reports also claims that Waseem killed Qandeel for her money.
A woman neighbour told a local media that Qandeel was looking for a bride for Waseem these days. She said she had visited the model that night and her brother was watching television while she was in another room and everything was fine. “It is unbelievable. Qandeel was a very nice girl,” she added.
She was killed on Friday night at her family’s home near Multan. Waseem went on the run and was arrested late Saturday in neighboring Muzaffargarh district.
He confessed, “Yes of course, I strangled her, she was on the ground floor while our parents were asleep on the roof top. It was around 10.45 pm when I gave her a tablet and then killed her. Whatever was the case, it (his sister's behaviour) was completely intolerable”.
