TOKYO: Tokyo stocks were 0.46 percent higher by the break on Thursday as investors awaited the outcome of a US central bank policy meeting widely expected to see the announcement of further easing measures.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange added 41.43 points at 9,001.39, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares
was up 0.41 percent, or 3.06 points, at 744.88.
