SAN SALVADOR: At least one person died in El Salvador after a 7.4 magnitude quake struck off the coast late Monday, a mayor said.
An electrical pylon in the city of San Miguel 135 kilometers (80 miles) east of the capital fell on a man and killed him, the city's mayor Wilfredo Salgado told YSKL radio.
Several walls in the city crumbled but there were no immediate reports of other fatalities or injuries, Salgado said.
