imageMOSCOW: Russian Premier League leaders CSKA Moscow failed to stop their winless streak as they were held at a 1-1 draw by bottom-placed Anzhi Makhachkala on Sunday.

The Red Army side, who have lost their last four matches, remained top of the table, six points clear of Rostov, who face Krasnodar on Monday.

Another Moscow side Lokomotiv, who tackle city rivals Dynamo also Monday, sit third, one point further back.

"We're currently not in our best form," CSKA manager Leonid Slutsky said.

"But I feel some dissatisfaction with the result anyway.

"We started well, we kept the play under control and scored a goal. But in the second half we obviously lacked power and mobility. I'd say that we didn't deserve the win today."

CSKA, who have been beaten by Manchester United and Wolfsburg in the Champions League and by Krasnidar and Samara in the domestic league, started in a livey fashion at the Anzhi Arena.

In the 10th minute CSKA left back Kirill Nababkin received a pinpoint pass by Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa in the area and hammered the ball into the back of the net from the corner of the six-yard box.

After the interval Anzhi moved up a gear pinning the visitors back and in the 55th minute Islamnur Abdulavov found the unmarked Ilya Maximov in the area and he pulled the scores level with a close-range shot.

Second-half substitute Kirill Panchenko missed CSKA's last chance to score the winning goal in injury time when his close-range attempt was denied by Anzhi 'keeper Yevgeny Pomazan.

"For us every singe point is precious," Anzhi head coach Ruslan Agalarov said.

"Today we created more scoring chances but the draw looks the fairest result."
