LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has congratulated newly elected senators of Pakistan Muslim League-N.
He said the election process for senate had completed in a democratic manner, adding that it was a matter of satisfaction that assembly members took an active part in the senate election.
He said the PML-N government believed in democracy and was custodian of democratic traditions in the country.
Shahbaz Sharif said the success of PML-N candidates in the senate election was the victory of democracy and would result in strengthening of democratic institutions.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that the newly elected members of senate would play their due role for the progress and prosperity of the country, and the implementation of welfare programmes for the masses.
