KARACHI: Six ships C.V Maersk Delroit, C.V MSC Messina, C.V MSC Albany, M.T Sea Crystal, M.T Cari Bean Orchid and M.T Al- Khalidiah carrying containers, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and at FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Sunday, June 15. Meanwhile another containers ship 'Pona' also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day.
Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port at fifty percent on Sunday where seven ships namely C.V Maersk Detroit, C.V MSC Messina, C.V MSC Albany, M.T Sea Crystal, M.T Caribean Orchid, M.V Ocean Breeze and M.T Al-Khalidiah are currently occupied at PQA berths to load/ offload containers, chemicals, palm oil coke and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 74,112 tonnos comprises 50,742 tonnes imports and 23,370 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 2,860 Containers (TEUs) (1,630 imports and 1,230 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port.
Eaible oil carrier Caribean Orchid sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while five more sips C.V Maersk Detroit, C.V MSC Messina, C.V MSC Albany, M.T Sea Crystal, M.V Ocean Breeze are expected to sail on some day afternoon.
Four ships C.V Pona, C.V Safmarine Ngami, M.V Rickmers Dubai and Asia Glory carrying containers, general cargo and palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-4 and LCT respectively on Monday, June 16, 2014.
