KARACHI: Fayyaz Ahmad Laghari,Inspector General of Sindh Police said US has provided bomb disposal and safety equipment to the Sindh police.
An announcement said that Bryce Miles, Senior Representative of the US Consulate Karachi and Robert A. Clark, Resident Programme Manager, Anti-Terrorism Assistance, US Embassy Islamabad provided bomb disposal and safety equipment to Sindh police on Thursday at a ceremony held at the Central Police Office here.
Fayyaz Ahmad Laghari received the equipment, which was sponsored by the US Embassy,worth approximately $ 50,000.
The post-blast investigation equipment includes 60 different items from handheld metal detectors to mine detection sets, and protective bomb suits, is part of grant under US Embassy's `Anti-Terrorism Assistance (ATA)' initiative.
The equipment is a part of the ongoing Explosives Incident Counter-Measures Course.
