RAWALPINDI: District Coordination Officer Talat Mehmood Gondal on Tuesday reviewed arrangements made to prevent dengue larva breeding in the monsoon season.
Presiding over a meeting here, he directed all concerned departments to keep a close liaison with each other and public representatives to completely wipe out the outbreak threat of dengue. He said people's representatives, NGOs and district government teams should play an effective role in dengue eradication campaign.
DCO said special teams for dengue eradication have been set up in the district which comprise of people representatives, political workers and town administration officers. He directed the health officers to induct trained personnel in teams constituted for the purpose, adding that anti- dengue brigades should be active and vibrant.
The meeting was also attended by Executive District Officer Health (EDO) Dr Zafar Iqbal Gondal, Administrator Rawal Town Imran Qureshi and senior officials of the health, Agriculture and Environment department.
