imageISLAMABAD: Special Political Assistant to Prime Minister Dr Asif Kirmani has said that alliance with Jummu Kashmir Peoples Party and Jamaat-e-Islam (JI) would be fruitful for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The PML-N candidates should withdraw their nomination papers in the constituencies, where the party had agreed to support the candidates of two parties, he added.

Talking to PML-N ticket holders for LA-19 Rawalakot City and LA-20 Thorar here at the Punjab House, he briefed them about the PML-N alliance with Jammu Kashmir Peoples Party.

Kirmani appreciated Jammu Kashmir Peoples Party President Sardar Khalid Ibrahim Khan for joining hands with the PML-N in the AJK. Sardar Khalid, he said, was the son of a founding leader of Kashmir movement.

Sardar Ijaz Yousuf of Rawalakot City, Arshad Niazi, Haji Abdul Rashid Khan, Sardar Naveed Sadiq, Kalim Hussain Awan, Sardar Shah Nawaz, Muhammad Jhangir Khan and Sardar Khan Bhadur Khan Abdullah from Thorar and Ms Rehana Khan were also present in the meeting.

Kirmani said the party had to take difficult decisions. As the PML-N, he said, was poised to form government in AJK and the leadership would ensure to take care of the workers and resolve their problems in the constituencies, where the party had alliance with other parties.

He asked the workers to fully support the candidates of allied parties as it would help the PML-N to form government in AJK.

The PML-N AJK leaders on the occasion assured full support, saying they accepted the decision of party leadership.

Meanwhile, Amir Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) AJK Abdul Rashid Turabi with a delegation held a meeting with Dr Asif Kirmani in Punjab House to discuss seat-adjustment.

Turabi said his party had a good vote bank in Azad Kashmir and constituencies of AJK refugees which would help the PML-N win the election.

The alliance would also send a positive message across both sides of Kashmir. It would not only help highlight the Kashmir issue more effectively but also help ensure merit and good governance in AJK, he added.

Dr Asif Kirmani appreciated efforts of the JI President and assured that the PML-N candidates would fully back JI candidates on LA-41.

During the meeting other political issues were also discussed.

PML-N AJK Vice President Pir Syed Ali Raza Bukhari, Additional Secretary General Sardar Abdul Khaliq Wasi and Coordination Secretary Zulfiqar Ali Mali were also present in the meeting.
