imageISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Monday announced the schedule for election of five union councils of Municipal Corporation Murree.

According to a notification issued here, elections in Union council No.3, (Murree city), Union Council No.4 (Ghora Gali), Union Council No.5 (Numbal), Union council No. 6 (Tret) and Union Council No. 8 (Charihan) of Municipal Corporation Murree would be held on June 14, 2016.

Nomination papers will be filed with the returning officers on May 25 and 26. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be completed on May 27 and 28.

Last date for filing of appeals against decisions of the returning officers for rejecting or accepting nominations will be June 03. The final date for withdrawal of candidature has been mentioned June 4 in the schedule. The revised list of candidates along with the election symbols will be issued on same day.

The ECP asked the executive authorities in the federation and in the province not to use state resources in the above mentioned constituency.

After the issuance of schedule of bye-election, the President, Prime Minister, Chairman/Deputy Chairman Senate, Speakers of assemblies, Federal Ministers, Ministers of State, Governor, Chief Minister, Provincial Ministers and Advisors to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, Members of the National Assembly/Provincial Assembly and other public office holders will neither visit the area of any constituency.

If any person will be found in misusing of his official position in any manner calculated to influence the result of the election, he/she will be tried by a Court of Sessions as contemplated under Section 61 of the Punjab Local government Act, 2013.

No transfers/postings of the civil servants shall be made after the issuance of Election Schedule of Local Government Elections without prior approval of the Commission till the publication of election results;

Any holder of public office, who is found to have violated any provision of Election Laws or the instructions issued by the Election Commission, shall be proceeded in accordance with the provisions of relevant laws.
