RAWALPINDI: Chief Justice Lahore High Court Manzoor Ahmed Malik has said that role of lawyer's is vital for provision of speedy justice and they should ensure their presence in courts for prompt disposal of under trial cases.
He was talking to a delegation of Rawalpindi Bar Association led by President Bar Association G.M. Shah at Judicial Complex, here Wednesday. District and Sessions Judge Rawalpindi Bahadar Ali Khan, Additional District and Sessions Judge I, Muhammad Musharraf Hassan Sumra, Additional District and Sessions Judge Rawalpindi Tahir Khan Niazi, Senior Civil Judge, Rawalpindi Mr. Ghulam Farid Qureshi, Vice President Rawalpindi Bar association Tariq Mehmood Sajid Awan, Secretary Bar Association Mrs.
Tayyaba Abbasi, Qazi M. Adnana Abeer Sultana, Azhar Hameed Khokar and Raja Masood Amin were also present on the occasion.
The Chief Justice said our prime objective is to restore confidence of the general public by removing complainants about judiciary by deciding cases on merit.
He said steps had been taken to fill the vacant posts of judges so that under trial cases be decided speedily.
He asked lawyers to discourage the culture of strikes and extend help to ensure smooth functioning of courts which would enable provision of justice without any delay.
