12,400 army troops, rangers to be put on security for LB polls

RAWALPINDI: As many as 12,400 troops of Pakistan Army and Rangers will be employed on security duty for local body elections scheduled to be held on April 25 (Saturday) in 42 Cantonments across the country.

According to the ISPR here on Friday, troops have been requisitioned by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The troops will ensure security and assist Election Commission in smooth conduct of local bodies elections.
