ISLAMABAD: Member National Disaster Management Authority Ahmed Kamal has said that Iternally Displaced Persons (IDPs) is a national level issue and all institutions are playing their role in this regard.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said that special focus is giving on providing shelter, drinking water and other facilities during Aftar and Sehr time.
He added government has provided cash amount to more than 27,400 families.
He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, Punjab government; the Army and SAFRON have played their role regarding providing facilities to IDPs. UAE government and UNHCR have also provided assistance to the IDPs, he added.
Responding to a question, he said that the IDPs camps are situated in such an area which would not be affected due to uneven rains.
Analyst Aqeel Yousafzai also said that it premature to say about the timeframe of the operation. He added the output of the operation is satisfactory so for.
To a question, he said that it is very difficult for any government to provide complete facilitates to about 0.6 million people in the present circumstances.
However, to a great extent basic necessities have been provided to IDPs, he said.
He added that Polio vaccines have also been administered to almost one hundred thousand children of IDPs.
Responding to a question, he said that number of people living in camps is very low. He added it is the strategy of the government to shift the IDPs immediately to their areas which forces declared clear and safe.
To yet another question, he said that parliament, federal government, provincial governments, and international institutions should have evolved a strategy regarding post-operation situation in North Waziristan and FATA.
