Wheat procurement from Apr 15

FAISALABAD: Wheat procurement drive, a government initiative, will commence here in Faisalabad division from April 15 onwards.

A spokesman of the food department told here on Wednesday that 44 wheat procurement centers have been set up in four districts of Faisalabad division where 504000 metric tons wheat would be purchased from growers.

Eleven procurement centers have been established in Faisalabad district to procure 149000 metric tons wheat. Similary, 197000 metric tons wheat would be purchased from district Jhang, 100000 metric tons from district Toba Tek Singh and 58000 metric tons wheat would be purchased from district Chiniot.

Stocks of gunny bags (Bardana) have been provided at wheat procurement centers from where the growers can get it on first come first served basis.
