Aircraft Accident Investigation Board (AAIB) has started reassembling the parts of ill-fated A320 aircraft of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in the designated hanger at Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) to ascertain the causes behind the deadly crash that killed 96 passengers and a resident on May 22, 2020.
All major parts of the flight PK8303 have been shifted to the hanger at JIAP after the recovery of cockpit voice recorder under debris after six days of the incident. The AAIB has started reassembling the parts of ill-fated A320 aircraft of PIA in the designated hanger at JIAP to ascertain the causes behind the deadly crash. The flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder have been sent to the Airbus Company and the decoding process of both devices would be completed in next two weeks. Meanwhile, the bodies of 69 passengers of ill-fated A320 aircraft of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have so far been identified on the basis of DNA tests. PIA spokesman said that 63 bodies were handed over to the families and added that six bodies were shifted to Lahore via PK302 including First Officer Usman and flight steward.
