LAHORE: The Lahore Stock Exchange on Monday held its first session of Campus Outreach Programme for the Business students here at Jinnah Islamia College of Commerce (JICC) where LSE officials interacted with students.

"Campus Outreach Programme" under the broader Financial Literacy Initiative has been launched by the LSE in collaboration with South Asian Federation of Exchange (SAFE) and Jang Group as its media partner. The overall objective of the FLI-Campus Outreach Programme is to prepare today's youth for better understanding of the economic/financial affairs affecting them.

The LSE under this initiative will be conducting on-campus educational sessions, followed by practical exposure of students to the financial products/services through visits/interactions with financial institutions and encouraging participation in the financial system through games and internship programme.

At the event organized at the JICC, Nadeem Asghar, the LSE Head of Investor Relations Department, explained to the participants about the broad features of Pakistan's economic and financial system, characteristics of different financial markets, regulatory framework, investment products, financial services and opportunities available to investors in Pakistan and roles and responsibilities being performed by various financial institutions.

He also spoke on various operational matters of the Exchanges including listings, trading, and investor protection. The overall objective of the Financial Literacy Initiative (FLI) is to promote the financial skills and the knowledge of the common citizens, and to support the agenda for the broader financial inclusion in societies, he added.
