WARSAW: Poland's central budget deficit reached 200 million zlotys ($52.68 million) in the first five months of 2017, or 0.3 percent of the full-year plan, the finance ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
In comparison, in the corresponding period last year the deficit reached 13.5 billion zlotys, or 24.6 percent of the full-year plan.
The ministry also said that in the first five months of 2017 value added tax (VAT) revenue rose by 30.0 percent year-on-year, helping total tax revenue increase by 18.8 percent year-on-year.
