imagePakistan senior batsman Muhammad Hafeez, has said that cricketers involved in corruption should be punished in a manner, that no other player would dare to repeat the same.

The former Pakistan skipper expressed these views, while attending a press conference on Saturday.

Everyone can have their opinion but mine is quite strong on spot-fixing the stance is that whoever is found hurting the reputation of Pakistan shouldnt be forgiven.

The 36-year-old while talking about the Pakistan Super League (PSL) corruption scandal said that the players representing Pakistan should know that fixing is not a mistake but a crime, which ruins the countrys name.

He said that the current PSL scandal is a painful reality in Pakistan cricket. However, he refused to talk much about it, as the investigations are ongoing.

Earlier, Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar had said that any cricketer found guilty of spot-fixing during the PSL will be sent to jail.

Batsman Shahzaib Hasan became the fifth Pakistan player to be provisionally suspended by the PCB as part of its investigation into alleged corruption in PSL.

Previously, Irfan Khan and Nasir Jamshed were suspended by the PCB anti corruption unit and a charge sheet was issued against him. Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif were also provisionally suspended and later charged over meeting a man suspected of being linked to an international syndicate.
