ISLAMABAD: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold its fourth Extra-ordinary summit in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, on 26-27 Ramadan (August 14-15), on the suggestion of King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz to discuss the current situation of the Islamic world.
According to the a press release issued by the Secretariat of OIC from Jaddah, the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz has asked for this special session of the OIC to examine the situation in many countries of the Islamic world, and to intensify efforts to confront this situation.
The 4th extra ordinary summit of the OIC will also address the sources of discord and division therein, reunify the Islamic Ummah and promote Islamic solidarity.
The fourth Islamic Summit will be preceded by two meetings, the first at the level of foreign ministers to prepare for the summit and the second at the level of senior officials to prepare for the ministerial meeting.
