KARACHI: Brisk shipping activity has been observed at the Port where six ships carrying container, cement, chemical, furnace oil and edible oil were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal on Monday.
Meanwhile three more ships carrying containers and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 65% at the Port on Tuesday where a total seven ships namely Nysted Maersk, MV. Faith, MT Sofia, Bow Chem Antwerp, Pearls of Jebel Ali, M.T Karachi Bunga Allium and Theresa Libra are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 69319 tonnes comprising 58309 tonnes imports and 11010 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1135 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
