ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Friday summoned all four provincial chief secretaries and local government secretaries to appear before the court with record regarding transfer of powers to local bodies representatives.
The three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the case filed by Raja Rab Nawaz.
During the course of proceedings, the petitioner told the court that the provinces failed to transfer powers to local bodies representatives till now.
Justice Khilji Arif Hussain remarked that the court would examine the political parties manifestos as they also mentioned local bodies elections in the manifesto.
Later, the court summoned provincial governments representatives and adjourned hearing of the case till third week of April.
