ISLAMABAD: Smooth and peaceful polling took place in Union Council (UC)-29 sector F-10 and F-11 as voters exercised their right to vote in an organized manner here on Monday.
Main contest in this urban ward of the federal capital was among candidates of three major political parties: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat e Islami.
Total registered voters in the area are around 2,665 - 1,400 males and 1,265 females.
By 3:30 pm, almost 25 percent voters had cast their votes as their was half holiday in the capital.
The federal government offices closed at 2:00p.m to facilitate the residents of the capital to cast their votes.
Talking to APP, a large number of voters expressed satisfaction over arrangments made for the polling and security.
