ISLAMABAD: Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif Tuesday said the government has taken special initiatives for promoting regional languages for national integrity and coherence.
Presenting a report regarding non broadcasting of programmes in Balochi language by the official media, he said the official media was presenting programmes in Balochi language including news analysis, and other current affairs programmes.
The issue was raised by Senator Dr Jehanzeb Jamaldeni The minister said, the government attaches special importance to the promotion of regional languages, adding that PTV Bolan was working since 2005.
The channel was also presenting several programmes in other regional languages of Balochistan.
