KHAIRPUR: Opposition leader in National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah called for learning from the experiences of world's fastest growing economies like China, Korea and Japan and the basic pillar of China's strategy that is massive human resource development.
"In our case, youth are our real wealth and Pakistan has been blessed with a huge pool of creativity as Pakistan has 100 million of population below the age of 25. However the challenge is to empower them with quality education and skills and provide them opportunities to contribute to socio economic development.
Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the 4th International Conference on Computer & Emerging Technologies (ICCET) 2014 held at Shah Abdul Latif University, on Friday last, Khurshed Shah said "unless we accelerate the transformation of our economy to one of higher skills, higher value, and higher wages, we have little chance of exploiting these opportunities to our advantage".
He said that "the world software demand is still growing at a faster pace, and we can certainly have a slice of it by continuous supply of quality and dedicated professionals being produced, institutions like Shah Abdul Latif University, definitely have the potential to augment our efforts in achieving this goal".
Prof Dr. Parveen Shah, Vice Chancellor, SALU and Prof Dr. Irfan Hyder from IoBM, Karachi. Prof Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Chairman Department of Computer Science welcomed the chief guest, national and international delegates at the conference.
