Tried and tested Haroon appointed Director Cricket Operations
Haroon Rasheed has taken over the charge of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director Cricket Operations on Monday.
Haroon would resume his duties from today onward.
“The Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Haroon Rasheed as Director Cricket Operations after completing all the formalities and the interview process. He has resumed his duties from today i.e. April 17, 2017 at the Board’s Head Quarters,†reads a statement by the PCB.
Haroon Rasheed has been associated with the board for quite some time and has worked in different roles. He was part of PCB’s after Pakistan’s unimpressive run in the World T20 2016. Haroon was the chief selector then and the selection committee was disintegrated after head coach Waqar Younis submitted his report.
Pakistan failed to even go past the first round in the tournament held in India. Waqar then blamed Rasheed for making frequent changes to the side which didn’t fare well with the side.
PCB then removed Waqar Younis, dissolved the national selection committee and replaced then skipper Shahid Afridi with Sarfraz Ahmed as the captain of the side on April 5, 2016.
