amazon1024Attention social media stars, Amazon has a new role for you to shine and make some big bucks. The e-commerce giant has quietly launched a "social influencer" program in hopes of recruiting stars from YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook to endorse products on its site.

According to TechCrunch, one of the key things that make the new Influencer program different from Amazon Affiliates is its exclusivity.

Amazon’s social influencers must have to submit an application to be considered for inclusion and only those applicants with “large fan followings” will be accepted.

Details of the program reveal that Amazon will also consider other factors including the fan engagement on posts across a variety of social media platforms, quality of content, and the level of relevancy for Amazon.

Amazon's social influencers would be paid commission on the purchases they induce others to make.
