Space Exploration Technologies Corporation or better known as ?SpaceX?, founded by Elon Musk seems to have an archrival who is bolstering claims to beat SpaceX in the big race to Mars.
CEO of Boeing ? the aforementioned archrival to SpaceX ? Dennis Muilenburg casually remarked at ?The Atlantic?s, What?s Next?? conference, "I?m convinced that the first person to step foot on Mars will arrive there riding on a Boeing rocket."
What really reinforces the assertions made by Boeing is the fact that they already have rapport. For the sake of the argument, having built the boisterous ?Saturn V rocket?, which was used to transport Apollo equipment and facilitate astronauts on their journeys to and fro from the moon; also the fact that Boeing also built the infamous Space Launch System (SLS) - which is said to be sending 20 metric tons to Mars in 2018 - surely is enough to prove Boeing?s mettle as far as probability for success is concerned.
In the meantime, SpaceX has plans to debut its most potent rocket ?Falcon Heavy? early in 2017, despite the ensuing controversy surrounding their re-landing failures and recent launch pad explosion. Au contraire the ?Falcon Heavy? is said to be able to life about 13 metric tons of weight to Mars.
