ppp-flag 400ISLAMABAD: Senior leader of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Mehreen Anwar Raja has said the party had rendered lot of sacrifices for democracy and smooth functioning of democratic process in the country.

 

Talking to a private television channel, she said that democratically elected government would not get any dictation from non political elements which hold the dual nationality.

 

She commented that the people who attains dual nationality have no Constitutional right to criticize the democratically elected representatives.

 

She said "It is due to the democratic governments that country acquired nuclear weapons, missile system and strong defence against the enemy.

 

Replying to a query, she replied that election would be conducted in time.

 

She added that conspiracy against the democratic process would not be accepted. She said that President Asif Ali Zardari has assured to conduct free, fair and transparent elections to strengthen democratic institutions in the country.

 

Mehreen Anwar Raja viewed that the elements who are using religion for the sake of politics and holding the agenda of foreign forces wanted to de-stabilize the country.

 

She said during war on terrorism, and natural catastrophes these people were not seen here who are now talking about welfare of the state.

 

Replying to another question, she said that PPP government is not under pressure from public gathering.
