Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) being observed today

KARACHI: Processions are being taken out today to observe the Chehlum of the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), the grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Aaj TV reported on Tuesday.

Devotees took out processions from various parts of the city while strict security is being provided by the police and Rangers in all sensitive areas with the latter’s helicopters lending aerial surveillance.

Processions are also being taken out in other cities of the country to observe the supreme sacrifice of the grandson of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and his family among the 72 companions of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS).

After offering Namaz-e-Zohrain four smaller processions will culminate into a major one at the Hussainiyan Imambargah in Kharadar.
