Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Head of Selection Committee Inzamama ul Haq has come in support of Shahid Afridi saying that that star all rounder deserves to play a farewell match.
The news comes after Shahid Afridi one of the most aggressive cricketers ever to play the game called it a day from all forms of the game a few days back. Afridi remains to date one of the most popular cricketers on the circuit, and has contributed greatly towards many memorable wins for the Green Shirts.
"In my opinion, Shahid deserves to be given a farewell match so that he can announce his retirement properly and retire in a befitting manner," said Inzy as per the Business Standard. Afridi holds many records to his credit, labeled ‘Boom Boom’ throughout his cricket Afridi was a master in hitting sixes, and rightly so as no other batsman comes close to his tally of 351 sixes he hit in his ODI career.
Earlier, Shahid Afridi had said that he wanted to retire on a high note, however stating that he never requested the PCB to give him a farewell series before retiring. “I want to quit on a high note, if I wanted to retire just randomly then I would have done it after World T20 in India,” he said.
