Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan is considering to inviting Afghanistan to play in Quetta in the wake of improved law and order situation in Balochistan’s capital.
According to local media reports, PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan said Afghanistan had shown consent to send their cricket team to Pakistan. “We are considering arranging matches here in order to provide locals an opportunity to watch international cricket,” he said.
He was accompanied by Secretary General Quetta Region, Noman Mashkoor and PCB Coordinator, Abdul Qayyum, during a press conference at Bugti Cricket Stadium Quetta.
Khan further revealed that PCB plans to establish cricket academies in Quetta and Peshawar to search for prospective talent in the cities. He also urged the Baloch youth to focus on education. “A cricketer must be educated as it is the need of the hour,” he remarked.
