imagePakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to seek help from former pacer, Wasim Akram in a country-wide talent hunt campaign for fast bowlers. Wasim Akram will be on a hunt to find talented fast bowlers from all-over Pakistan.

In a press release, the PCB announced that it is starting a talent hunt for pacemen with a leading business house LG. “The PCB, together with LG, announces the start of the Super Speed Star Campaign, a nationwide search for the best young bowlers in the country. The campaign is set to officially get underway on July 23 with a series of trials taking place in five different cities. Bowlers selected during the trials will travel to Karachi and join leading fast bowlers for a 12-day camp with Pakistani great Wasim Akram,” the statement reads.

In a PCB video release, Akram said, “There is no shortage of fast-bowling talent in Pakistan and all they need is the right education. I’m coming to groom the future pacers of our country and to share what fast-bowling is all about. Nature has endowed Pakistani fast-bowlers with just the right amount of speed for this particular brand of bowling and I’ll try to enhance their capabilities”.

Previously, former Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram has expressed his desire to help Pakistan cricket team in whatever way he can. Talking about the prospects of working with the nation’s young lot, Akram remarked, “I look forward to working with the boys and I’m grateful to the PCB for arranging this camp. It gives me a chance to give something back to my country”.

According to the schedule the trials will be held in Peshawar on July 23, in Mirpur on July 27, in Multan on July 29, in Sukkur on July 30 and in Quetta on July 30 and 31. The camp also carries prize money of Rs 300,000 to be divided among the top bowlers of the camp.
