After getting the clean chit from International Cricket Council (ICC) over his bowling action, Saeed Ajmal has expressed his desire to play World Cup with the Pakistan national squad.
While giving interview to local media Saeed Ajmal expressed his craving to join Green Shirts. He said, “Everyone wants to play at the World Cup, but we should understand the current situation. When I feel I can give my hundred per cent, I will like to make my comeback but if Pakistan need me during the World Cup, I am available to join the team”.
Pakistan’s shining star Saeed Ajmal has cleared his bowling action test just before the mega event of cricket. Pakistani off- spinner Saeed Ajmal has been banned by ICC since September 9, 2014. But he can still make it to the World Cup if any of the squad players would get injured.
“I pray that Pakistan are successful at the World Cup, but I don’t want the team to suffer an injury crisis for me to play at the event,” Ajmal, added.
However, while addressing to local media, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Shaharyar M. Khan, believes Saeed Ajmal’s inclusion in World Cup squad is not possible while ex-chief Ijaz Butt feels that Pakistani team badly needs spinners like Saeed Ajmal.
Shaharyar said, “Ajmal has cleared the first phase, but the second is yet to be cleared to prove how much he is still effective with his remodeled bowling action. Ajmal needs to first play domestic cricket to make a comeback in the national team, for ICC Cricket World Cup 2015”.
