Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan is sure that his home team India will qualify for the semi finals of ICC World Cup 2015. He believes that India’s poor performance in tri-series has nothing to do with the World Cup, players should take it as another game.
Indian left-arm fast bowler, who is also a second-most successful pace bowler behind Kapil Dev, finds Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma the best players to retain India’s World Cup title.
According to Indian media reports, he said, “Rohit and Virat’s form will be crucial to India’s World Cup chances. Rohit will open the innings with Virat coming at either number 3 or 4 depending on match situation. Both have the ability to bat through the innings or even play the role of sheer anchor necessary in such a tournament.”
While discussing about the tri-series where India won just one match out of four matches he added, “World Cup is a new tournament and I don’t think India’s performance in tri series will affect them. They have also got a long break after that and if you see the format also, I am sure India will play semi final.”
He is sure that India will deliver all round performance and will do well in mega event which is just a few days away. He also feels that India have advantage over their biggest rivals Pakistan as they had a long Australia tour and played at almost every venue.
