KARACHI: The divisional and district administration Karachi has challaned 95 shopkeepers and fine of Rs.1,22,500/- were imposed while four shopkeepers were arrested for continuous profiteering.
According to a statement issued here on Tuesday, during crackdown the administration fined 57 milk sellers, 12 food items grocers, 21 chicken sellers, one vegetables sellers, three fruits seller and a meat vendor.
The action against profiteers were taken in the areas including Civil Line, Saddar, Garden, Ferozabad, Jamshed Quarters, Gulshan Iqbal, Gulzar Hijri, Liaquat Abad, Nazimabad, New Karachi, Shah Faisal, Bin Qasim and Korangi.
Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has said that the operation against profiteers will continue till its logical end.
