ISLAMABAD: Federal minister for political affairs senator Maula Bukhsh Chandio Monday assured Bhawalpur Janoobi Punjab (BJP) province would be created before general elections if the opposition did not hinder its creation.
While criticizing the opposition, he told APP that PML (N) was trying to manipulate the situation for point-scoring and gaining political milage in coming general elections.
That was why it was applying all possible delaying tactics on the issue and deprived the people of Southern Punjab of their legal rights.
Chandio reminded that Bhawalpur province was suggested by the PML (N) while the people of Southern Punjab were talking about Seraiki province.
At the moment, PML(N) was of the view that no more formation of provinces should be made on linguistic basis. When the issue is almost settled down by the Parliamentary Committee on the new provinces, PML (N) has come up with novel excuses to delay its implementaion.
It has started defamation campaign against PPP government without any logical reasons.
PPP led government sincerely wanted to fulfill demand of the people of Southern Punjab and was striving hard to create BJP province before the general elections polls, he said.
