Sri Lanka have won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan in the first Test of the series being played at Abu Dhabi on Thursday.

This new-look Pakistan side will be led by Sarfraz Ahmed, who was named captain of the Test side after leading the team to ICC Champions Trophy victory and will be looking to prove his leadership mettle in the longer format of the game.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka will be looking to bounce back from a 3-0 Test series whitewash at the hands of India.

Haris Sohail is making his debut for Pakistan. He received his Test cap from Azhar Ali.

This is Pakistan’s first series since the retirement of skipper Misbah ul Haq and Younis Khan, the highest runs getter for the Green-Shirts in Test cricket.
