KARACHI: Bollywood superstars Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor are reportedly entering Khan territory with their upcoming release dates.
Hrithik Roshan, the ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ star has reportedly booked Diwali 2014 for the release of Karan Malhotra’s upcoming film ‘Shudhi’. Diwali is normally a time when the Khan Triads release their expected blockbusters to the awaiting public.
And according to Indian media sources, ‘Barfi’ superstar Ranbir Kapoor has reportedly booked Christmas 2014 for the release of Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’, starring opposite Anushka Sharma. Similarly, Hrithik’s upcoming film Krrish 3 starring Vivek Oberoi, Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut is also scheduled for a Christmas release expected at the end of this year.
Aamir Khan, who reportedly once held the monopoly on Christmas releases with previous films including ‘3 idiots’ and ‘Ghajini’ will now see his domain challenged, while Bollywood heartthrob Salman Khan will reportedly not be releasing any films this year. With Aamir’s highly-awaited action blockbuster ‘Dhoom 3’ scheduled for release on 25th December, this may very well be the last year the Khans’ dominate the Christmas box office.
