Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dilwale’ was most talked about movie of 2015 as it brought back the evergreen on-screen couple, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Even with such high expectations and aggressive marketing campaigns, the movie has failed to impress the audience.
Shah Rukh Khan admitted his disappointment on the movie and said, “I don't think the film has done as well as it should have. I am personally disappointed with that. To be honest, it has perhaps not done as well in India as I would like it to do. But overseas it has done very well in a lot of countries like Germany, Austria. It is quite thrilling that Indian films are reaching far and wide. There are a lot of business opportunities,” Indian media reported.
Rohit Shetty’s ‘Dilwale’ clashed with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ on December 18. It was previously been assumed that ‘Dilwale’ will beat Ranveer Singh’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ with a huge margin but the film lost its steam at the box office with each passing day. The film has crossed Rs 350 crore mark worldwide but it failed to get a positive response from the audiences.
On the other hand, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is still busy minting at the box office.
