Recalling the previous era of Pakistani film industry when movies like ‘Maula Jatt’ has represented Pakistani movies in early 80’s. The powerful voice of Sultan Rahi and Mustufa Qureshi became the voice of nation; the makers are planning to bring back that era again in a modern way.
Reportedly, With the industry now booming with digital technology and unique concepts, the producer of ‘Maula Jatt’ Muhammad Sarwar Bhatti, has decided to bring the 1979 masterpiece back to the silver screen in Blu-ray and 3D technology for old fans and the new generation to enjoy.
According to local media reports, Bhatti, who is the chairman of Bahoo Films Corporation, shared that the film is being enhanced in London using latest 3D technology. “The film is in the process of being remastered in London. The conversion will take place both in London and Pakistan and is going to cost an estimated Rs4 million to Rs5 million,” he said.
“I have enjoyed the success of the film and know how far its reach is. The film will hopefully draw large crowds. The films being made today are for the elite and are being screened in multiplexes, ‘Maula Jatt’ is a film that was enjoyed by all audiences and was even screened in a cinema in Lahore for six years,” he added.
‘Maula Jatt’ depicts the enmity between two men, Maula Jatt (played by Lollywood legend Sultan Rahi) and Noori Natt (Mustafa Qureshi) in Gujranwala in rural Punjab.
The release date hasn’t been disclosed yet but the theatrical trailer will be released shortly.
