Robert Downey Jr will reprise his ‘Iron Man’ role yet again in an upcoming series of ‘Captain America 3’. He is in negotiation with Marvel to join the iconic comic book series.
According to foreign media reports, Robert Downey Jr is set to extend his tentacles even further into the Marvel universe as he is lined up to play Tony Stark, the billionaire who transforms into Iron Man, in an another Marvel franchise, the ‘Captain America’ series.
If things go well then Downey will play a prominent role in ‘Captain America 3’. The actor is in final negotiation stage with the makers of the movie, the deal is significant for the Marvel cinematic universe considering the plot will revolve around ‘Stark’ against Captain America’s alter-ego Steve Rogers, played by Chris Evans.
Downey’s work as ‘Iron Man’ has brought in big bucks for Marvel and Disney. The three Iron Man movies have earned $2.4 billion worldwide, while the first Avengers earned a record-breaking $1.5 billion worldwide in 2012. Downey has also signed two ‘Avengers’ movies for the coming years, media reported.
