imageApple announced some massive updates couple of day’s backs at WWDC, bringing new features to its iMessage app, which has become one of its most used.

But it turns out that Apple is not content with making this app iOS exclusive, and but plan to make it widely available i.e. on Android platform, making it a direct competitor of WhatsApp.

According to Deccan Chronicles, iMessage that is presently exclusive only to iPhones is one of the most secure voice and video chatting application and remains deeply integrated into the Apple ecosystem. However, MacDaily suggests otherwise, as Apple is planning to release iMessage for Android smartphones.

The move came as Apple puts additional focus on services, meaning opening up of certain avenues that are beyond its own iOS and OS X platforms, the source says.

At present, WhatsApp is one of the most popular communication medium on the messaging platform. More than a billion users are hitched to it, owing to its easy use, free of cost, and security. If the reports are true, iMessage could change the way people communicate in future.
