After Hollywood actress Emma Watson offered her support to Farhan Akhtar’s initiative ‘MARD’ (Men against Rape and Discrimination), now American singer and song writer Michael Bolton reached out to the Indian actor on Twitter and appreciated his efforts.
Many celebrities and renowned personalities have previously joined the social campaign including Sachin Tendulkar, Shaan and Yuvraj Singh.
According to a source, Bolton’s team has reached out to Farhan’s team to discuss how they could take the matter forward. “Both the team’s members met last week in Mumbai and spoke about this collaboration,” adds the source.
Earlier, Bolton had even tweeted, “I see that with all your diverse talents and interests you advocate for women’s empowerment. Love to learn more about your goals”.
The ‘Rock On’ actor who is currently busy working for his next release ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ directed by Zoya Akhtar, confirms the news, a spokesperson of Farhan adds, “Yes, they had a brief exchange on a social media platform and Michael has expressed his wish to learn more about this initiative,” media reported.
Recently, Farhan Akhtar has also become the first male celebrity to be named as ‘UN Women Goodwill ambassador for South Asia’.
