Shoaib Malik becomes first Asian to score 7,000 runs

Pakistan middle order batsman Shoaib Malik, has achieved yet another milestone for his country.

The Sialkot born has become the first Pakistani and also the first Asian batsman to score over 7,000 runs in Twenty20 cricket. He is the seventh batsman to achieve this milestone.

Malik, who at present is playing for the Barbados Tridents at the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), achieved the feat during his side encounter with the Trinbago Knight Riders.

Malik went on to score 51 runs and also claimed one wicket during the match.

It is pertinent to inform, that Twenty20 blaster Chris Gayle is the most successful batsman of this format, with over 10,000 runs under his belt.
