Wimbledon hit by worst ever player behaviour

Wimbledon 2017 has been engulfed into some of the worst players behaviour in recent years, after tennis biggest tournament imposed record fines on the participating players.

The tournament officials have handed out $15,000 (£11,500) fine on Australia’s Bernard Tomic, the second highest recorded financial penalty in Wimbledon’s history, for "unsportsmanlike conduct".

Tomic was further dropped by racket sponsor Head hours after he was fined, following his loss to Mischa Zverev in the first-round at Wimbledon, reported The Telegraph.

"We were extremely disappointed with the statements made at Wimbledon by one of our sponsored athletes, Bernard Tomic,” reads a statement on Head's official website.

"His opinions in no way reflect our own attitude for tennis, our passion, professionalism and respect for the game. Therefore, we have decided to discontinue our collaboration with Bernard Tomic."

It came after the Australian admitted in a post-match conference that he faked an injury during his straight-sets loss to the German Zverev, further adding that he was “bored” with Wimbledon.
