CM KP assures judicial committee to investigate varsity incident
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has assured the provincial assembly that a judicial committee will be constituted to investigate the incident of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.
According to Radio Pakistan, the chief minister said no one would be allowed to take law in his hand.
Responding to a point of order of Parliamentary Leader of Awami National Party Sardar Hussain Babak said those responsible for the violence and killing a student will be brought to justice.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has condemned Abdul Wali Khan University incident and said “Law of the jungle can’t prevail.â€
The PTI chief made this comments on social site ‘Twitter’. Imran said he is in contact with Inspector General Police (IG) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding that a firm action against the culprit is necessary.
It is pertinent to mention here that a student of the Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKU), was lynched by an enraged mob over ‘blasphemy’ allegations while funeral prayers of the slain student were offered at the Zaida village in Swabi district on Friday morning.
